What time should bedtime be at 8 months old?

I prefer to be baby led in terms of routine. So you won't often find me giving specific timings for naps and bedtime.

I would suggest that you are guided by their wakeful windows and their sleeply signs. The wakeful windows will be around 2.5-3 hours at 8 months, you might be able to go longer at the end of the day to make sure there is enough sleep pressure built up for bedtime but be careful of over tiredness.

At this age some baby's will still be on a 3 nap routine, some will be transiting to a 2 nap routine. If your baby is moving towards 2 naps then you might need to bring bedtime earlier than normal while they adjust.

Do longer naps = longer wakeful windows?

This is an interesting one. There is a scale of wakeful windows for each age e.g. 6-8 months = 1.5-3 hrs wakeful window. If at 6 months your getting long naps then you might be able to go to the highe
